Sexual Abuse

Unwanted sexual activity is considered sexual abuse. It may be physically forced upon you but you can also be verbally threatened or intimidated to consent in order to avoid further issues. Unfortunately, many victims believe sexual abuse is only rape or done by a stranger but the reality is even long-term relationships contain sexual abuse as the victim feels obligated to concede to the perpetrator's repeated often intimidating requests which can include guilt. Victims will often suffer from various forms of mental health conditions due to being abused. Some of these include (but not limited to):

  • Self-harm

  • PTSD

  • Anxiety/ Panic attacks

  • Substance abuse

  • Eating/ Sleep disorders

No is no. It is not "maybe" or "try harder to convince me".
